If
you read THE ESSENTIAL FATS PAGE on my
site, you will know already that I was
recently so fed up with the supplement
industry that I went out and created my

Supplementation
is almost a sport in and of itself if
you believe what the magazine ads have
rammed down your throats. Meal replacements
were created by direct intervention
of God (or so they want you to believe).
We both know that's hardly the truth
and no protein powder has successfully
replaced a good meal either. You do
not need HALF of what the companies
in your muscle & fitness magazines
claim you do in order to succeed. And
yes I do know what it is you really
need. The sad this is, so do they.
What
you need is about 100 essential (must
have) nutrients a day and I get all
of them in only 2 products a day. Yes,
only 2 and YES these nutrients are PROVEN
ESSENTIAL. You may not realize it, but
without certain nutrients in your body,
you may continue to function, but you
will NOT function correctly. You can't.
It's like trying to run a car without
spark plus. Working a computer without
one of those little wires not there
or not doing their thing. Most companies
rip you off by marketing 'multi' vitamins
that do not really contain 'all' the
vitamins. They then turn around and
publish 'reports' and 'research' papers
on the individual nutrients they left
out, like B-Complexes so you'll rush
out and buy them separately. That doubles
their profit. After that, you'll need
anti-oxidants and those too, are purchased
separately. That's 3 times the profit
for your 'dependable' supplement manufacturer.
And minerals? Well, there is normally
a very low amount of those in any 'multi'
vitamin so that you will buy Zinc for
your immunity, Calcium for your bones,
Selenium for your blood... It all adds
up and you know it. Even if you spent
$5 a bottle for 100% of the RDA per
nutrient, it adds up with their being
over 50 major products to buy.... You
do the math.
You
see, supplements are supposed to assist
you by giving an added 'extra' boost
to your current eating plan, replacing
what is lost in processing, cooking,
agriculture.... Nothing more than that.
But that's a lot. I am not talking about
protein powders and meal replacement
bars. That stuff is pure crap and isn't
even factored into the equation. So
if supplements are supposed to replace
what your good food doesn't and your
diet is not complete to begin with,
supplements can still really only boost
you so much. That's true for anything
you try. Like when you take something
to stimulate fat loss, yet you sit on
your butt or eat junk food in between
meals. That's like stabbing yourself
with a knife.
If
you take a fat burner that boosts your
metabolism by 10%, it isn't going to
show results if everything else you
do in life reduces your metabolism by
30%. Weight lifting speeds the metabolism,
sure, but how many people do you know
that exercise regularly and still look
bad? It's their food. Eating right is
where we begin if you want to lose fat,
build muscle and become or remain healthy.
Supplements only come after you get
your diet straightened out otherwise
you are wasting them. Yes, you can 'cheat'
once in a while, that's not what I mean.
IF
YOU WANT RESULTS THAT ARE VISIBLE THEN
EAT RIGHT!
I learned this the hard way. I used
to take mega packs, weight gainers,
creatine, glutamine, you name it. No
matter what I tried, nothing ever worked
like eating whole real food and nothing
made me feel better than getting my
essential nutrients on top of that.
Besides, we both know it isn't a pill
or a powder that builds muscle, it's
weight lifting that does it.
We
know that fat doesn't really BURN either.
Fat DIMINISHES as you tell the body
it doesn't need it anymore. With that
said, if that is the case, do you really
need to take supplements at all? If
so, what ones? If you were thinking
the only solution for fat loss was surgery
(liposuction), drugs or those awful
chemically treated powdered milks, with
fake sugars that cause disease, hydrogenated
oils that interfere with your healing
and hormones, or from a simple synthetic
vitamin C the body doesn't recognize
anyhow, you're wrong. And if you think
filtered and flavored minerals round
out your diet, well, they too are useless
and those pro hormones that the pros
wouldn't even bother with are not the
route for you either.
Steroids?
I refuse to discuss them. Oh, I was tempted
to do steroids when I was younger. One
of my friends was a dealer back in Dayton,
Ohio while he was in the Air Force (you
read that correctly) and he once got another
close friend of mine some 'stuff' and
even gave me some for free. I just couldn't
get myself to use them. I was WAY too
paranoid that I would either get caught,
end up in jail, come down with liver disease
or die of cancer or something before I
turned 30. That's a funny way to look
at it, but it's not THAT funny. It happens.
Drugs play no role in an honest man's
life and yes, they can kill you. I spent
the afternoon with a friend who took an
overdose of them and I saw first hand
what can happen to a person with no self
control.
I
know you think what you are using 'works'
or will eventually work but that is not
true. What works is your effort in the
gym and the fact you are so malnourished
that ANYTHING would benefit you. That
goes for you overfed folk too. Anything
seems to work a little when you go to
the gym and workout a little harder. But
what happens if you are deficient in anything
else that's essential? Look at yourself
now. Fatigued. Fat. Puffy. Stressed. Blotchy.
Pimply.... Gym supplements, health food
store products, what your doctor recommends,
they don't always contain the essentials.
And
that's what the supplement companies depend
upon. Your deficiencies, so you'll run
out and buy individual products and your
clueless-ness of how they are robbing
you, so you'll buy anything they 'recommend'
in their ads and articles. Worse off,
these companies charge you up to 100 TIMES
what the products actually cost because
they know how desperate you are for results!
I know several companies who joke about
how their liquid mineral product mixed
with fruit juice, water and very little
actual minerals costs them about 50 cents
to make while YOU buy it for over $50
thinking it will save your lives! What
a crock!
Chromium.
There are several forms of it, only one
that's REALLY useful and it costs about
a nickel for a month's supply so why are
places like GNC charging you $12.99 a
bottle?
The

cooking foods (microwaving), storing
them for too long (canning, freezing)
and that stuff kills what's good in

We
have then continually damaged our bodies
by following fad, bad and nonsensical
diet plans too. On top of that, the
crops we grow these days tend to be
nutrient dead crops because our farmers
do not rotate the land they grow them
in as often as they should.
These
same farmers, trying to save and make

chemicals they can find each passing
year as opposed to using the more natural
